Mantua Community Into the Wild Event
Into the Wild Mantua Day (free, no-charge event) 11 AM-2 PM
Get ready for Into the Wild: Mantua Day 2025. A free, family-friendly event at the Mantua section of Eakin Park. Hosted by the Mantua community and the Mantua PTA is proud to be a co-sponsor!
Come meet a real park ranger, get up close with owls and hawks, grab a treat, and enjoy music, games, and neighbors under our beautiful tree canopy. Stay tuned for more info!
Library Books Due May 28th!
All library books are due on Wednesday, May 28th. Please start looking for any long overdue books and begin returning them to the library. Thank you!

6th Grade Slideshow - Pictures Requested
As part of the 6th grade promotion celebration, we will create a slideshow of kindergarten / early elementary photographs of our sixth graders. Students will watch the slideshow during the pizza lunch, and will hopefully have a lot of fun seeing how much they have grown over the course of elementary school! Participation is completely optional. If you would like to participate, please upload ONE photograph of your child from kindergarten / early elementary using the following link: https://www.dropbox.com/request/JbQtUC6iSlyMwgywCuBK.
Photographs should be uploaded no later than Friday, May 30. Please note that your photos are secure/not public. Only Sara Taylor can access the Dropbox folder. This will become apparent when you attempt to upload materials, but wanted to clarify that you aren’t able to see pictures that other parents submitted.

Ceremony Information
We are excited to announce that our Sixth Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 10:45 AM - 12:00 PM at the Woodson High School Auditorium. We are excited to be able to celebrate and honor our students with you!
Here are some of the important details about the event:
- We have arranged bus transportation for all Mantua students and staff to and from Woodson. If a parent/guardian would like to take their child after the ceremony, they must do so by returning to Mantua and signing them out from our front office.
- Sixth grade students should arrive at Mantua dressed for the promotion ceremony.
- The doors to the Woodson Auditorium will open for seating at 10:15 AM. Please do not attempt to enter prior to this time. Student seating will be clearly marked, and families are welcome to sit anywhere outside of this area.
- Families are invited to park in the parking areas located directly in front of or behind the auditorium and may enter through doors 16 or 18. Please do not park in other areas. Please try to limit your party to a single vehicle, if possible.
- The Promotion Ceremony will start promptly at 10:45 AM and will run about one hour.
- Families are welcome to take pictures during the ceremony and are asked to be mindful of blocking the views of other families. Please remain seated as much as possible and if you stand to take photos, return to your seat as quickly as possible.
- At the end of the ceremony, the rising seventh graders will be called to exit to the outdoor courtyard, immediately outside the entrance doors to the auditorium.
- After all students have exited, families may begin to exit and are invited to join their students in the courtyard for pictures.
- Students will board the buses by 12 PM to return to Mantua for the Sixth Grade Party.
- Students should plan to bring a change of clothes with them to school in the morning to change into before the party. They will want to have active clothes, including sneakers.
Celebration Information: We need your help!!!
In order to make this event a great celebration for our deserving 6th graders, we need parent volunteers to help serve food, manage games and photobooth, as well as set up/clean up. We also need volunteers to send in some food/drink items for the 6th grade students. Please use the signup genius link below.
** Please note, in order to attend the 6th grade promotion celebration party at Mantua Elementary from 1:30-3:30pm following the ceremony at Woodson, you must be a volunteer.

Have you ever been to a Mantua Field Day? It is a blast! From sack races to sponge relays, and even a custom tricycle race under a car wash - hand built by our very own Mr. Collins and Ms. Bruining!
We need volunteers! Trust us, your kids want you there to witness! Your teacher and/or room parent will likely provide more information about parent volunteer needs and dates/times, so please reach out to them to volunteer (even if just for a short time).
Summer STARS Musical Theatre Performance Camp
for Rising 3rd-8th graders
STARS offers a two-week musical theatre intensive bootcamp where students will audition, rehearse, and put on a show in just two weeks!
We currently have openings for our Singin’ in the Rain session.
Camp meets July 21st-25th and July 28th-August 1st from 9am-4pm, with a final performance on the evening of August 1st.
Any rising 7th graders could use this as an opportunity to work with me and brush on their tap dancing skills before Anything Goes at Frost next year! https://theatrestars.org/summercamp STARS Senior (Adults) is a brand new program that utilizes Music Theater International (MTI) Senior musicals- they are like Jr. and KIDS musicals, but are designed for adults!
STARS will be performing Guys and Dolls Sr this July, and we highly encourage all Drama Mamas (and dads!) to give it a shot!
Rehearsals will be held on weekdays from July 7-24th, with a performance for an audience on the evening of July 25th.
