There’s singing, games, jump ropes and a fun version of Poe’s “Telltale Heart.” If your student would be interested in the story and can sit for at least 30 minutes, this show is for you!

Update on FCPS Boundary Review
In July 2024, the Fairfax County School Board voted to begin a review and update of the county’s school boundary policy. As part of this initiative, the Board established the Superintendent's Boundary Advisory Committee, which includes parents, caregivers, and community members from each of FCPS’ 24 high school pyramids. The committee also includes school-based and division administrators, teachers, operational staff, and other community representatives.
The committee has been actively meeting throughout 2024 and 2025 to explore ways to better align school boundaries with changing geographic and demographic needs.
Representing the Robinson Pyramid on the committee is Sunnie Salvia, a Fairview and Robinson parent with 4 children: 5th grade, 7th grade, and 10th grade.
At its most recent meeting, the committee discussed the topic of “split-feeder” elementary schools—schools that feed into more than one middle school. While Fairview is not a split-feeder school, there are current discussions regarding adjusting the Union Mill Elementary boundary that could potentially impact Fairview families.
We encourage you to visit the FCPS website to review the meeting agenda, presentation slides, and related materials - paying particular attention to the slide with proposed changes for Fairview (specifically related to the Martin’s Landing neighborhood-slide18).
If you have feedback on the proposed changes affecting Fairview, please reach out to Sunnie at fcpsboundary.robinson.2@gmail.com with your comments or concerns.
Please Note: Any proposals discussed by the Advisory Committee are not final and have not been approved or rejected by the School Board. The Advisory Committee’s work will continue through January 2026, so it is unlikely that any changes impacting Fairview will take effect in the upcoming school year.
Attendance Reminders!
Please remember the importance of late-year attendance for school success. While we acknowledge that many students may be experiencing year-end burnout, it is important that all students need to be in school. On time. Everyday.
Last Day of School Attendance
All students are expected to be in attendance on the last day of school, Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Please let us know if your child will not be at Fairview on June 11, 2025. You can always contact us at 703-503-3700 or email us at FairviewESAttendance@fcps.edu.
Dismissal Schedule for the Last Day of School
On the last day of school, Wednesday, June 11, school will be dismissed at 1:55 PM.

Limited Early Release Days Continue Next Year
During a report to the School Board this month, FCPS Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid announced plans to continue limited early release days in elementary schools and shift them to Wednesdays for the 2025-26 school year. This plan is based on recommendations from the Early Release Steering Committee. The committee includes parents, caregivers, school-based staff, and central office personnel. Read more about the reasons for early release and the proposed early release dates.
🥗 Don’t Forget to Check Your Student’s Lunch Balance!
As we approach the end of the school year, it is important to remember to check your students’ MySchoolBucks account and pay any remaining school meal balance.
Families that earn less than 185% of poverty level qualify for free and reduced-price meals. However, an application must be completed and submitted each school year to receive that benefit. The application for the 2025-26 school year will be available this summer.
If families have a current balance and think they may be eligible for free and reduced-price meals, please fill out the FRM application for the 2024-25 school year. Get more information about free and reduced-price meals.
Student Testing Results Coming Soon
Throughout May and June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, there is a list of tests by grade level on the FCPS website.
How the results are delivered depends on the test. Scores will be delivered in SIS ParentVUE or from the school or testing organization. Learn what to expect regarding assessment reporting practices and timelines.
Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families. Individual test websites provide report translations and help for interpreting test results. Please contact us with any testing questions or for additional information about how we use test results to support student success.
Support Your Child’s Success in SIS ParentVUE
Signing up for a SIS ParentVUE account helps you to support your child’s academic success! Caregivers can view important information like attendance, grades, progress reports, and assessment scores through ParentVUE.
Once you have activated a ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same ParentVUE account. A SIS ParentVUE app is available for Apple and Android devices.
Need help creating a SIS ParentVue account? This video walks through the steps. Find out more about SIS ParentVUE.
