Dear Beech Tree Families,
As we head into the Memorial Day weekend, we want to take a moment to wish you a safe, restful, and meaningful time with your loved ones.
It is hard to believe the end of the school year is already in sight! Even in these final weeks, our students and staff remain fully engaged—working hard, wrapping up end-of-year assessments, and enjoying the learning process. We are also eagerly preparing for several special events, including our PreK and Kindergarten Moving On ceremonies, and the 5th Grade Promotion celebration.
We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support of our families and community. Your partnership continues to make all the difference. Thank you!
With appreciation,
Principal Clarke

Medication in the Health Room?
End of School Year MEDICATION PICK UP REMINDER:
Please plan accordingly to pick up your student’s medications! All medication must be collected on June 11, 2025 no later than 1:30pm, any medications left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. **Per school policy-only parent/guardian may collect medication from the health room.
If your student is enrolled in an FCPS sponsored summer program-the existing medication authorization forms may be used for those programs, but it is parent/guardian responsibility to pick up the paperwork/med and transport to summer site.
If you have any questions over the summer-please don’t hesitate to contact our school nurse, Mariae Beck, at mbeck@fcps.edu
Student Testing Results Coming Soon
Throughout May and June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, view this list of tests by grade level.
How the results are delivered depends on the test. Scores will be delivered in SIS ParentVUE or from the school or testing organization. Learn what to expect regarding assessment reporting practices and timelines.
Visit the FCPS website for additional information about how test results are reported to families. Individual test websites provide report translations and help with interpreting test results. Caregivers should contact their children’s schools with any testing questions or for additional information about how schools and teachers use test results to support student success.
Access Test Results and Grades in SIS ParentVUE
Signing up for a SIS ParentVUE account helps you to support your child’s academic success! Caregivers can view important information like attendance, grades, progress reports, and assessment scores through ParentVUE.
Once you have activated a ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. And information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same account. A SIS ParentVUE app is available for Apple and Android devices.
Need help creating a SIS ParentVUE account? This video walks through the steps. Find out more about SIS ParentVUE.
If you already have an account, be sure your contact information is up to date. Learn more about updating your information on ParentVUE.
Limited Early Release Days Continue Next Year

This plan is based on recommendations from the Early Release Steering Committee. The committee includes parents, caregivers, school-based staff, and central office personnel. Get to Know FCPS and the Resources Available to Families
Being connected to your school community helps you stay informed and support your child’s success. Take some time to get familiar with the many resources and tools available to FCPS families, including:
-
School Age Child Care (SACC) – This Fairfax County government program provides a safe and fun environment before and after school for elementary school-age children.
-
FCPS Communications for Families – FCPS shares news and information to support student learning and promote family engagement.
-
FCPS Family Academy – We know that as a parent or caregiver, you play a critical role in your child's education. The Family Academy compiles classes, webinars, workshops, and programs offered by FCPS to help you support your child's needs and learning at home. The Family Academy also includes information about resources to help you ensure your child has what they need to succeed.
The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for families, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees at Beech Tree Elementary School. We love our staff members; let's tell them how we feel!
