Falls Church Academy classes have moved into their new space and we are so excited to share this amazing new educational facility with our current and future students! The Academy is also happy to have our Intro to Nursing, Practical Nursing and Patient Care Tech classes join us next school year so we will all be under the same roof!!
 More will be added to the EMT classroom this summer as an ambulance simulator will be built in the room for student use next academic year.
 Medical Assistant students will learn skills using exam room equipment to simulate a medical facility where they will be seeing mock patients and practicing vital signs on each other.
 Exploring Health Science students have a bright and inviting space to learn the basics of medical terminology and skills to prepare them for other health care courses.
In February, Falls Church Academy student ambassadors were asked to present at a career fair at Poe Middle School at which 300 students participated. This successful program introduced rising high school students to courses available to them when they transition to high school.
On May 8, Academy students were asked to return to provide hands-on experiences for 25 students who specifically stated that medical careers was an interest of theirs. At this hands-on career program, a student from the Medical Assistant course taught middle-schoolers to suture, proper hand hygiene and how to take blood pressures. A student from the Academy EMT course taught students how to put on fire gear. In addition to teaching medical skills, both students promoted the various Academy programs to these up and coming high school students.
