 Hello Mustangs,
It has been a phenomenal week at South County Middle School. We have completed our first round of SOL testing, and what a fantastic time we had yesterday afternoon at the PTSO's Thank Goodness It's Thursday (TGIT) event! Thank you to our PTSO and all the staff who ran the event for our students. Please mark your calendars for the NJHS Induction Ceremony on May 22, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. We look forward to celebrating our newest members. Additionally, please remember that SOL testing continues throughout May, and our World Language classes will have their exams at the end of the month. Let us keep up the great work! As always, thank you for all you do, and please contact us to share any feedback, questions, or concerns. Enjoy your weekend, and we will see everyone on Monday.

The PTSO is still looking for a secretary or an 8th grade VP. Secretary takes minutes at all meetings and helps with events. 8th grade VP helps with events and is in charge of the 8th grade dance and Staff Vs. Student Volleyball game. If either of these positions sound like something you would be interested in, please contact us at info@mustangptso.org
8th Grade Dance
A night to celebrate our 8th grade students as they mark the end of their middle school career and their promotion to high school. Students must be in good academic standing (all library books returned and any late fees paid; no outstanding dues in MySchoolBucks) in order to attend. If a ticket is purchased and there are outstanding dues the ticket money will go toward paying off the dues and another ticket must be purchased.
Rising 9th Graders
South County HS is excited to announce a new STEM-focused Jump Start program for rising freshmen. The program will run August 4-6th from 9-12pm and is free and open to all rising freshmen. Breakfast, lunch, and transportation will be provided. The content will be developed and run by SCHS teachers with a focus on math, Stem engineering, HS study skills, and becoming part of the Stallion Nation. If interested, please sign your student up here. Registration closes July 11th.

🚍 Student Bus Passes Offer Free Transportation All Year
All Fairfax County middle and high school students can get a Student Bus Pass SmarTrip card to ride the Fairfax Connector and Fairfax CUE buses for free! With the pass, fares are free from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, all year. Learn more about the Student Pass. Complete the application and return it to our front office.
Children 12 and younger ride for free on Fairfax Connector with a paying adult.
