Olympic Spirit at Deer Park
May 30th

Join our opening ceremony parade, bring a poster and your Olympic Spirit as we celebrate the Deer Park Unified Special Olympics event on May 30^th.  The parade will begin at 12:15 p.m. at the main entrance of the school (Door 1) and will go all the way to the track in the back of the school.

Volunteer here  to help make this an amazing event!

Field Day - June 2nd

Deer Park's Field Day is June 2nd and we need parent volunteers to help run the fun stations. Grades 3 - 6 will be 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Grades K - 2 and Enhanced Autism will be 12:15 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. Sign up here to volunteer!

Optional Parent Input Form

In planning for the next school year, parents/guardians are invited to complete the  Parent Input Form  to assist with the best class placement for your child. We ask input on how your child best learns and any special considerations when placing students in classrooms.

SOL Update

All large group SOL testing is complete. We are finishing up individual testers and make up testing currently. All remaining SOL retakes will take place next week from May 27^th – May 30^th. Scores can be seen in parentvue as soon as they are available.

Sixth Grade Promotion Ceremony

June 11th, 2025 9:00 a.m. Parents and families are invited to celebrate the accomplishments of our sixth grade students and reflect on their time at Deer Park on June 11th at 9:00 a.m.  Doors open at 8:50 a.m. Students should "dress their best" in appropriate attire for this special day.

Kindergarten Blast Off

Families of Kindergarten students are invited to attend the end of year Kindergarten Blast off celebration on June 9th at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Kindergarten Pod

Virginia Readers' Choice Program

Attention Rising 3^rd -5^th Grade Families!

Take your kids on a reading adventure this summer!

We hope you will integrate reading into your child’s summer routine! This will not only support their academic growth but it will contribute to their emotional and social development. Encouraging a love for reading can have lasting positive effects, setting the foundation for lifelong learning and curiosity.

Fairfax County Summer
Reading Adventure

June 11 to August 17, 2025

Go to fairfaxcounty.beanstack.org  and register for the Summer Reading Adventure. Depending on your age, earn ten or fifteen virtual badges by reading or listening to books. Once you reach your reading goals for your age/grade, visit your local library branch to receive prizes for finishing the program!

Asha-Jyothi 2025

Deer Park is pleased to announce that we will once again partner with Asha-Jyothi to support their 17th Annual Fun Run! The Asha-Jyothi (AJ) 5K Run is a fun-filled family event with foot tapping music, delicious food and a friendly course. It is a volunteer based non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the underprivileged by providing access to education and healthcare.

AJ generously donates all the registration money from each school back to the school for its STEM needs.

Last year we had 153 participants from Deer Park! Let's beat our number of registrants from last year - this is a huge fundraiser for the school and a great opportunity to practice our running! Register now and join the fun!

OTA Summer Camp Pass Overtime Athletics Summer Camp Pass is back to allow you the MOST flexibility and LOWEST prices that you can find in the Northern Virginia Camp scene! Just choose how many weeks of camp you would like to join us for this summer and reserve your spot today. These can be used for any of our traditional day camps (and you don’t even have to choose just one!).
