Help us with being on time to GMS each day!
We recognize the traffic into GMS can be heavy each morning, but the best time to drop is around 7:10 a.m. Our car line is short at that time and students can enter the building and ensure a timely arrival to class by 7:30 a.m. Reminder-students need to be in their seats in class at 7:30 a.m. Please account for traffic and weather delays! Thank you!
SOL Scores
SOL test scores are visible in both SIS ParentVUE and StudentVUE. Test scores are uploaded into SIS on Monday's and can be found within the SIS Test History.

Jump Start Student Leaders
Is your 6th or 7th grade student interested in volunteering and helping out Rising 6th Graders get to know Glasgow? This summer, Glasgow's Jump Start Program will be held on July 29th and 30th. Jump Start is an opportunity for Rising 6th Grade students to meet peers/staff, participate in fun activities, and learn about Glasgow. If they are interested in helping with Jump Start, please have your student fill out the following Student Leader Application! We are looking for students who are excited about teaching our new students about Glasgow. Please fill out the application by June 6th! Please email Ms. Wasserman at ebwasserman@fcps.edu with any questions.
Student Laptops
We are aware of a recent TikTok trend that challenges students to physically damage their school-issued Chromebooks. This “Chromebook Challenge” encourages students to purposefully cause their devices to short out or catch fire by jamming metal/lead into the charging or USB port or stabbing the battery. Students might think that this behavior is a harmless joke or prank, but it’s dangerous and we are asking for your help in preventing it here in FCPS.
Please speak to your students about the consequences of this TikTok challenge, which include:
- Fire, injury, and damage to FCPS property.
- Lost access to schoolwork and online resources.
- Disciplinary measures as outlined in our Student Rights and Responsibilities handbook.
Please also note that families may be responsible for the repair or replacement costs for student-issued devices that are deliberately damaged.
Laptop collection will take place on June 5th and June 6th. Please make sure students return both their assigned laptop and charger. Replacement laptops cost $481 and chargers are $25. Parents can use MySchoolBucks to pay for lost, missing or damaged items.

Excellence at a Crossroads: FCPS Budget Update
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will begin finalizing the budget on Tuesday, May 6. The current advertised budget underfunds FCPS by $150 million. Without new revenue, such as the meals tax (adding just $2-3 to an average dining bill for a family of four), FCPS will face significant cuts.
What is at Risk? Go to fcps.edu/crossroads to see examples of where FCPS exceeds minimum state standards.
