Thank you to our neighbors, St. Andrews Church, who provided snacks and drinks for our staff
Good morning Stone Families,
Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers, Aunts, Godmothers, Grandmothers and Special Women who provide love and support. We hope that your day is full of joy and relaxation.
Last week was a busy week as we celebrated the 100 staff members in the building for Teacher Appreciation Week. We were treated to a delicious lunch by the PTSA. We were treated to a fully stocked teacher lounge with drinks and snacks to keep us going throughout the day. We were treated to gift bags from our local community partner, Grace Covenaeant Church. We were treated to more snacks and drinks from St. Andrews Church. Our administrative team cooked on the grill and we were able to have lunch outside. Special thanks to all the parents and families in the community that donated gift cards so that each staff member in the building was able to receive one. These activities really embodied our focus this year which is Unity in Community!
It is never too late to celebrate the hard work of a teacher, so please consider writing an Staff Kudos/FCPS Cares! It a wonderful way to acknowledge a special staff member who has made a difference.
This week, we will take our final regularly scheduled SOL for the year, Science! As I shared last week a good night’s sleep and breakfast will give the you the best start to a morning of testing.
TIK TOK Chanenge
We are aware of a recent TikTok trend that challenges students to physically damage their school-issued Chromebooks. This “Chromebook Challenge” encourages students to purposefully cause their devices to short out or catch fire by jamming metal/lead into the charging or USB port or stabbing the battery. Students might think that this behavior is a harmless joke or prank, but it’s dangerous and we are asking for your help in preventing it here in FCPS.
Please speak to your students about the consequences of this TikTok challenge, which include:
- Fire, injury, and damage to FCPS property.
- Lost access to schoolwork and online resources.
Please also note that families may be responsible for the repair or replacement costs for student-issued devices that are deliberately damaged.
I appreciate your partnership in keeping our students and school safe, and I’m looking forward to a strong finish to the school year here at Stone Middle School. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
Common Sense School
Stone Middle School is excited to announce that we have become a Common Sense School! Being a common sense school means we are dedicated to creating a culture of digital citizenship for all.
After School Program
A gentle reminder that our After School Program is coming to an end for this academic year. May 22, 2025 will be the last day for the Stone MS After School Program.
Farmside Kitchen Stone Appreciation Day
Free Farmbowl Night, May 17th!!!! For anyone who comes on the 17th, with a Stone Middle School ID. Students showing their SIS account would also be acceptable. Students, staff, teachers and administrators are all welcome!
Farmside Kitchen Fundraiser Night is on May 29th. Please visit as this helps our PTSA continue to provide for the Stone students and staff.
Chromebook Charger Return Reminder
As we wrap up the school year, during laptop collection, all students must return the original Chromebook charger that was issued to them at the beginning of the year. These chargers are covered under warranty, so we cannot accept replacements or off-brand chargers that you have purchased.
If a charger has been lost, families will need to purchase a replacement for $25. You can pay through My School Bucks or by bringing a $25 check made out to Stone MS to the front office. After paying, you will pick up your new charger in the tech office.
Thank you for helping us ensure all devices are returned in good condition!
We hope to see you this week at Stone Spring Musicial, The Addams Family. Our students have been working hard and this performance is going to be GREAT!
Show Times are Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 2pm & 7pm!
Let's have a great week Panthers,
Sonya Williams

25-26 Westfield HS Rising 9 Course Request Review and Level Change Request
The Master Schedule of classes is developed from the student course requests submitted in March and is finalized in the summer to set student and teacher schedules. Every effort is made to provide students with their initial course selection, but alternate courses may be used to fulfill a student’s schedule in cases of conflicts, closed or canceled courses.
To review your student’s course request, please login to ParentVue or StudentVue:
May 19th - May 30th, students will have the opportunity to review their course requests, and based on availability, make level change requests (e.g., Standard to Honors). All change requests will be reviewed by the Administration until Summer Break. If approved throughout the summer, updates can be seen via ParentVue.
Please note:
- A request to adjust course requests does not guarantee that changes will be made.
- Changes are subject to class capacity limitations.

The FCPS Summer Extravaganza is an exciting event that helps families imagine all the possibilities to continue learning over the summer. This is possible by showcasing interactive and immersive activities for children and the power of collaboration across FCPS offices and community partners.
Several departments within Fairfax County Public Schools—including Transportation, the Office of Multilingual Learners (ESOL Services), the Hispanic Educators Association, Career and Transition Services, Get2Green, the Office of Intervention and Prevention Services, and Safety and Security—are collaborating to create a day filled with engaging and educational activities for all FCPS students. In addition, various student school clubs will be in attendance, showcasing their initiatives and contributions. This year, we're excited to introduce the Student Program Marketplace, a new feature where students will present and sell their handmade goods, with proceeds supporting their respective programs. This initiative is supported and led by Educate Fairfax; a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for Fairfax County Public Schools students
The Summer Extravaganza will feature:
- Activities for children of all ages that inspire curiosity and a love of learning
- Opportunities for adults to learn how to support student well-being and academic success
- A special section of student-led activities
We invite you to attend and engage with our FCPS community.
