Summer Extravaganza
☀️🍧🎟️ Bring the entire family on May 10 for face painting, food and treats, music, a petting zoo, moon bounce, and FREE family fun at the FCPS Summer Extravaganza! You will see our HVAC Program there!

Come for learning activities, tips, and helpful information for families from local businesses and organizations, including Fairfax County Public Library and Fairfax County Park Authority. Register to attend.
Attendance
To report unexpected absences, please use the this Attendance Form or call the Edison Academy Office 24 Hour Attendance Line, 703-924-8137, or email us at EdisonAcademy.Attendance@fcps.edu to report the absence. Handwritten notes from parents delivered by students are not encouraged as a method of reporting absences.
Testing attendance
Academies don’t receive notice of scheduled activities and testing from base schools. Activities, testing, and all other absences need to be reported directly by parents/guardians to the Academy so they can be recorded correctly on the Academy side. Use the links below to report attendance. This is true for all base schools (including Edison High School).
End of year attendance

Seniors: Your attendance for final exams, senior activities, and graduation will be automatically entered in SIS based on your base school's schedule. You do not need to report attendance for these days.

Underclass feeder students: Report any absences through June 4, the last day of Academy shuttles.

Underclass Edison students: Attendance will be marked through the last day of school.
June 3rd - Edison graduation
Due to the 2:00 p.m. graduation for Edison High School students, we have shuttles for only the AM feeder students. Midday and PM students should stay at their base schools.
June 4th - Last day for shuttles
Final day for all Edison Academy feeder students.
Cosmetology 2 Students Passed their Boards
Our level two students Cosmetology students passed their board exams and are all licensed cosmetologists. We are so proud of them!
HVAC Signing Day
This event is a celebration of our HVAC students committing to their next steps, whether employment, continued training, or post-secondary education.
Cyber Program Opens an Arcade
The Edison Academy Cyber program designed and built a fully functional arcade to reward both students and staff at the end of the school year. Funded through generous grants from the PTSA, Educate Fairfax, and FATE, the arcade comfortably accommodates up to 40 students at a time. Students in the program will manage the arcade through the end of May, applying their skills in management, customer service, and technical troubleshooting. See full article here
Culinary Arts - Fiesta Menu Finale
Culinary Arts students were successful in their final Bistro experience of the year. The fiesta menu was delicious!
Residential Construction Updates
Clarke Construction interviewed our students for their summer jobs/intern positions. They will be working all summer at the new Inova Hospital site located at the old Landmark Mall.
Lot 13 is in the finishing phases with installation of the granite countertops and appliances, hardwood floors, and landscaping to be installed soon. |

Lot 14 has the footings dug, and they will start installing the helical piers soon. The students are getting a head start on the framing carpentry by building floor and wall panels. |
Grooming
Yet another busy and successful week in Veterinary Science grooming lab. They had a full house all week with a variety of sweet fur babies!
Last day for grooming is May 15th.
