The Administrative Staff and Teachers would like to thank all that played a part in the wonderful festivities that took place last week.

The Woodley Hills staff extends our sincere gratitude to the PTA for their incredible efforts during Teacher Appreciation Week! The delicious food, thoughtful treats, and fun activities truly brightened our days and made us feel so appreciated. We especially valued the hard work and care demonstrated by the PTA. The thoughtfulness and generosity meant so much during this busy time, bringing smiles, laughter, and wonderful memories. We are extremely grateful for our wonderful parent and caregiver partners!
In FCPS, we all belong. From the first day of school, to the last day of school, every child matters. If your student is having a hard time finishing the year strong and attending school, please contact a trusted adult at our school — a teacher, counselor, or administrator. Visit FCPS’ website for more attendance resources.
As a friendly reminder, please ensure that students are well-rested, have a healthy breakfast and attend school on the days they are scheduled to assess. If your child will be absent due to an observed religious holiday, please inform their teacher so that arrangements can be made for the student to test at another time.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it's a great time to reflect on how we can support our children's emotional well-being, as well as our own. Mental health matters just as much as physical health, and small daily habits can make a big difference.
Here are a few simple tips to keep in mind:
-
Start the Conversation Ask your child how they’re feeling—and really listen. Open, honest conversations help children feel safe and understood.
-
Keep Routines Steady Regular bedtimes, meals, and time outdoors help create a sense of stability and calm.
-
Unplug Together Try to carve out screen-free time each day. Reading, drawing, cooking, or just chatting can all help reconnect and reduce stress.
-
Model Healthy Habits When children see adults taking care of their mental health, it encourages them to do the same—whether that’s through rest, talking things out, or taking a deep breath.
-
Check In With Yourself Supporting your child starts with looking after your own well-being. Don’t forget: you matter, too.
Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that it’s okay to ask for help. If you ever have concerns about your child’s mental health or well-being, please feel free to reach out—we’re here to support you.
