Principals' Message
Dear TLES Families,
May is here and we're down to less than 30 days left of the school year! This past week was a busy one for TLES! We enjoyed our Band & Strings Concert, Kindergarten had a great trip to the National Zoo, we held our AAP Orientation Night and the remaining 2nd grader classes visited the McLean Project for the Arts!
Next week is one of the most special weeks of the school year as we celebrate Staff Appreciation Week! We are fortunate to have such caring staff members who selflessly give so much of their time beyond our school hours to ensure that every student in our TLES family experiences success and feels cared for. If you would like to help contribute to our staff breakfast on Monday, May 5th, or baked goods for Friday, May 9th's Staff Coffee & Goodies, we will be welcoming donations between 7:15-7:45 for our staff breakfast setup at Door #1 on both days! Please reach out to the TLES PTA if you would like to contribute either monetary donations, store-bought items or a home-cooked items at the following email address: board@timberlanepta.com

Early Dismissal Communication Procedures
In an effort to clearly communicate our procedures and requests to support an efficient early dismissal process, please review the notes below from our Main Office Team:
- Families are encouraged to communicate early dismissals to the office well before 3pm daily, in order to provide the office time to create and deliver early release notes to teachers.
- Buses begin entering the bus loop between 3:00-3:30, so please do not park in the bus loop during this time.
- Students will not be called up to the office until parent is present in office (in order for students to be present for instruction as much as possible).
- Emergency early dismissals after 3pm will be honored.
- Parent/guardian identification is ALWAYS required in order to gain access into the building.
If you have any questions about early dismissal procedures, please contact Dana Noland or 703-206-5300.
