Pine Spring AVID College and Career Showcase

Career Day 25

We’re excited to invite our amazing families and friends to be part of our College & Career Showcase on June 5th from 9 AM - 12 PM at Pine Spring Elementary! Our students are full of curiosity about the world around them—and yes, they are interested in what you do! Whether you're in healthcare, tech, construction, the arts, service industry, or anything in between, your story matters and inspires.

Many adults worry that their jobs might not be exciting to kids—but you'd be surprised by how fascinated students are when learning about the many paths to success. You don’t need a flashy title—just a willingness to share your journey, what you love about your job, and how you got there.

Let’s work together to show our students the incredible range of possibilities their futures can hold.

Excellence at a Crossroads: FCPS Budget Update

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will begin finalizing the budget on Tuesday, May 6. The current advertised budget underfunds FCPS by $150 million.

Without new revenue, such as the meals tax (adding just $2-3 to an average dining bill for a family of four), FCPS will face significant cuts.

What Is at Risk?

Go to fcps.edu/crossroads to see examples of where FCPS exceeds minimum state standards.
