TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK SUCCESS!

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK SUCCESS!

Thank you to all the families and PTA volunteers who helped lead daily events here at Sunrise, making our teachers feel truly appreciated and loved! From tie-dying, donuts, and a diner-themed luncheon to an 80s-themed photo booth, colorful posters, chalk art, and special mementos made by students—it was a week full of joy and gratitude. A special thank you to Vanessa Varma, our Teacher Appreciation Chair, and [insert name] for coordinating such a thoughtful and memorable celebration. None of it would have been possible without the support of our many volunteers and the enthusiastic participation of our families—thank you for making this week so special!

UPCOMING SOL ASSESSMENTS

One of the best ways to support your child during this time is by ensuring they get a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast each morning. It’s also especially important that students arrive on time and are present on testing days to avoid missing or needing to make up an assessment.

We also encourage you to help keep stress low—remind your child that these tests are just one way to show what they’ve learned, and they are ready! Our students have been working hard all year—building on what they’ve learned and developing new skills. We’re confident they’ll do great!

Parent Leads for Next Year's Basketball Challenge

The Sunrise Valley - Fox Mill Basketball Challenge is a long-standing tradition that students love. We're now recruiting 4th and 5th grade parent leads for next year, so that we can confirm with Fox Mill our participation for 2025-2026.

Why are we recruiting leads now for an event that won't happen for a year? Because the date must be set and the SLHS gym reserved over the summer.

5th Grade parents: If your child loves basketball and is expecting to play next year, sign up to lead to ensure this event happens! We need at least two parents to commit to putting this event on before we tell Fox Mill we have the green light to go for next year. Contact Jennifer Glynn to learn more about what's required.

Have a 4th grader who'll want to play in two years? Sign up to help with concessions!  Escape the loud noise of the gymnasium, and learn the ropes of this event to be on-deck to lead it for your child in 2027.

Phase 2 Community Boundary Review Meetings

We invite you to participate in a series of community meetings in order to review and reflect on the initial draft scenarios before the start of summer break. Another round of community meetings will be held in the fall.

As part of these community meetings, families, staff, and community members will be able to explore and visualize potential boundary scenarios using a customized Boundary Explorer Tool. The tool will also be accessible from our website.

Each meeting will be hybrid, meaning that you may attend in person or via Zoom. Childcare for in-person participants and language interpretation/translation for all participants will be available as needed. Registration links will be shared soon.

Visit our Comprehensive Boundary Review webpage for more information. Stay tuned for a timeline outlining the remainder of the boundary review process.
