Dear Navy Parents and Caregivers,

I hope you enjoyed some weekend relaxation and fun. We have a lot going on as the year winds down, and our Dolphins have so much fun to look forward to in the coming weeks. I am excited to be a part of the festivities and look forward to seeing our Dolphins having fun and being celebrated.

I’d also like to remind you that we are heading into teacher appreciation week. It’s a time where the smallest of gestures can really brighten a teacher’s day. Your gift to us is sending your wonderful children to school each day happy and ready to learn. In return, our teachers work tirelessly to ensure your child thrives socially, emotionally, and academically each day. A quick note or email to thank them for the love and care they display each day would be greatly appreciated.

As I can continue to learn, grow, and understand Navy as a school and community. I am grateful for the dedication of our PTO Board for the weekly sacrifices they make to ensure our school community is strong and thrives. Whether it’s waking up early to prepare a celebration, fund important needs around the school, planning logistics for school events and clubs, selling spirit wear for major events, leading after school clubs, and advocating for our school has been one of the pillars of our success this year. I’d like to recognize their talents, efforts and look forward to celebrating them as the year winds down.

In closing, there’s a strong foundation at Navy, and as I reflect on our wonderful community, I am grateful for the opportunity to lead such a beautifully diverse school. In closing, I’d like to thank you for being your child’s first teacher and sending us the very best children in FCPS each day. Our Navy community is strong, and I look forward to all the wonderful things we will accomplish together.

See you around the school!

Jason

Excellence at a Crossroads: FCPS Budget Update

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will begin finalizing the budget on Tuesday, May 6. The current advertised budget underfunds FCPS by $150 million.

Without new revenue, such as the meals tax (adding just $2-3 to an average dining bill for a family of four), FCPS will face significant cuts.

What Is at Risk?

Go to fcps.edu/crossroads to see examples of where FCPS exceeds minimum state standards.
