Dear Poplar Tree Families,
This week our SCA Secretary Nishanth Manthripragada held a fundraiser for his passion project. He wanted to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital! He also turned it into a competition to reward the house that raised the most money with a popsicle party!
We raised over $400 thanks to Nishanth's fundraiser! Thank you to all who donated! And congratulations to the green house who raised the MOST money and will be having popsicles on Monday!
We love when our students have the opportunity to be leaders in the building and especially when it highlights their compassion while making a positive impact! Way to go Nishanth and a big thank you to our SCA sponsors Ms. Doyle & Ms. Grieco!
As a reminder, our next early release is coming up this Monday, April 28. If you need to make a CHANGE to how your child will be going home on Monday, please do so by completing this form.

Poplar Tree Field Day
Our Poplar Tree Field Day will be Friday, May 30, 2025. Please see the flyer for specific times for each grade level. Stay tuned for a signup genius that will come out in a future Paw Print if you would like to volunteer at our Field Day!

Poplar Tree Adapted Field Day
Students participating in our self-contained Adapted PE classes will be engaging in stations with their PE Pals as part of a culminating activity on Wednesday, June 4. They will then be transitioning out to the playground to continue the fun. If you would like to join your student on the playground, stay tuned for a signup genius in a future Paw Print!
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener Results Now Available!
Students in grades 3-12 took the SEL Screener during the month of March, providing information on their SEL skills like achieving goals, understanding and managing emotions, establishing and maintaining relationships, and making responsible decisions. The screener also asks students how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.
Individual student SEL Screener results are now available to families in the Documents section of SIS ParentVUE. For families who do not have an active ParentVUE account, results will be sent via postal mail.
For support in understanding your individual student’s results or for ideas on how to support them at home, please review the Family Guide. Feel free to contact your child’s teacher or our school counselor or school social worker with any questions!

👖👟Clothing Drive🧦🩲
The Clinic needs spare clothing for student accidents: new or gently used gender-neutral, stretch-top pants; new or gently used shoes (youth sizes 10-13 only); new underwear & socks. There is a collection box in the main lobby.
📸Attention 6th Grade Families!📸
We are creating a slideshow and a baby photo guessing game for the 6th-grade promotion celebration.
You know your kids like seeing themselves and their friends. We are looking for any photos that pertain to school events, from the kindergarten Halloween parade and Panther Prowl to field trips or other candid shots of class celebrations or events. If your child attended another school for part of elementary school, please include those photos of your child. We aim to have everyone represented.
Name each photo with the grade/event and names of the students in it.
Here is the form to submit photos of your child’s time at Poplar Tree and one baby picture for the Guess Who Game by May 9th!
Annual Block Party
Save the Date!!! Our Block Party is coming up on Friday, May 16th from 6:30 pm until 8 pm!

We need help setting up, running games, monitoring the bounce house, being the mascot, etc. Anyone interested in helping please email gregory.geosits@gmail.com.
👟 Running Club K - 6th Grade 👟
It’s time to get your running and walking shoes on! We are continuing the before-school Running/Walking Club for all student grades 1-6. If a Kindergartener wants to join, please have a parent come and run or walk too. Best of all, it’s FREE! We will need at least 3 parents present each Thursday to ensure the safety of all of the children. Bring your mug of coffee and socialize as you help cross off a Panther Paw for each lap run! Register HERE today!
When: Thursdays from 7:45 to 8:20AM through May 20th
