Dear Olde Creek Community,
As we head into spring break, we’re excited to share some wonderful news with you! Please join us in welcoming Mr. Matthew Elkins, who will be joining the Olde Creek team as our new Assistant Principal beginning Monday, April 21—right after we return from break.
Mr. Elkins comes to us from Prince William County with over 15 years of experience in education. He has taught across elementary and middle school grade levels and recently served as a summer school assistant principal. Throughout his career, Mr. Elkins has led initiatives in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), supported multi-language learners, contributed to school improvement planning, and mentored students to increase engagement and success.
He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies and Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University.
Outside of school, Mr. Elkins enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons—especially being outdoors playing sports and camping. He’s also a passionate sports card collector!
Students will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Elkins on his first day- Monday, April 21. He is eager to begin building relationships with our students and staff and becoming a part of the Bear community. He’s also looking forward to connecting with families at our upcoming Cultural Heritage Night on Wednesday, April 24 at 5:30 PM—we hope you’ll come say hello!
We are so excited to welcome Mr. Elkins to Olde Creek. His experience, enthusiasm, and commitment to supporting students make him a wonderful addition to our school community.
As we welcome Mr. Elkins, we also say goodbye to Dr. Boland. She has been a great support to us at Olde Creek these last few months. Her last day with us will be tomorrow, April 11th. We wish her well in her re-retirement.
Warmly,
Courtney Korb Proud Principal 🐻
