Dear Poplar Tree Families,
Thank you to everyone who participated in Purple Up! We loved the sea of purple throughout our school as a symbol of our support and appreciation for our military-connected families.
Wearing purple was a special way to honor the sacrifices and resilience of our military children. These students often face unique challenges, including frequent moves, deployments, and separations from loved ones. By wearing purple, we showed them that they are valued by entire school community. We celebrate their strength and the important role they play in our lives!
Just a reminder that next week is Spring Break! We hope all our Poplar Tree families have an enjoyable week off. As a reminder, our office will not be open during Spring Break!
We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday, April 21!
Sue Andujar, Principal
Amy Alley, Assistant Principal

Bring Your Child to Work Day!
If you are planning to bring your child to work with you on Thursday, April 24, please be sure to let the office know prior to that day. You can report their absence in one of 3 ways.
THANK YOU!
👖👟Clothing Drive🧦🩲
The Clinic needs spare clothing for student accidents: new or gently used gender-neutral, stretch-top pants; new or gently used shoes (youth sizes 10-13 only); new underwear & socks. There is a collection box in the main lobby.
📸Attention 6th Grade Families!📸
We are creating a slideshow and a baby photo guessing game for the 6th-grade promotion celebration.
You know your kids like seeing themselves and their friends. We are looking for any photos that pertain to school events, from the kindergarten Halloween parade and Panther Prowl to field trips or other candid shots of class celebrations or events. If your child attended another school for part of elementary school, please include those photos of your child. We aim to have everyone represented.
Name each photo with the grade/event and names of the students in it.
Here is the form to submit photos of your child’s time at Poplar Tree and one baby picture for the Guess Who Game by May 9th!
Please see the Advanced Academics Spring newsletter HERE!

🫵🏼 We Need You for the PTES PTA Board 🫵🏼
We need your help to continue to have a strong and active PTA next year. Without a board, our PTA will dissolve and our school will no longer have after-school programs, community events, grants to support funding needs, and more.
Check out the PTA website for detailed position descriptions and estimated time commitments. If you have a question about a position, or the PTA board, please email nominations@poplartreepta.org. Submit your nomination by April 22!
The PTA Board develops goals for the PTA, appoints committees, and makes time-sensitive decisions in between regular board meetings to ensure that our students and teachers have the resources and support necessary to thrive. PTA Board volunteers serve our local school community and make real, tangible impacts for our students, parents, and teachers. We champion events like the Panther Prowl, Back-to-School Nights, Spelling Bees, and Science Fairs. We support teacher appreciation events, keep parents informed, and coordinate our room parents and event volunteers. Come join us and make a difference in our school community!
