Month of the Military Child (MOMC) – Deployment Support Kits

Honor and celebrate the resilience, courage, and contributions of Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) military-connected youth.  Donate items to build deployment support kits through April 30. (Drop off in main office) 

 Possible donations

  • Tote bag to hold items,
  • Letter writing materials (cards, paper, envelopes, forever stamps, pens, pencils),
  • Coloring books, markers, or crayons,
  • New stuffed animal blanket,
  • Matching picture frames Journal,
  • Craft supplies for welcome home decorations,
  • Gift cards for a special treat,
  • Yellow ribbon to signify a deployed service member,
  • Friendship bracelets for children and deployed parent, or
  • Two copies of books to share with child and deployed parent.

Cooper Wear Donations

If you no longer need your Cooper swag, consider donating! You can drop off your gently used clothing to new families and rising 7th graders. Have your student bring the clothing to the Cooper Wear Box in the front office. Questions? Ms. Bailey (msbailey@fcps.edu) is available at the front desk to help


Community Events

Spend a Day Outdoors with Langley Crew – Saturday April 19

Cooper students and their families are invited to the exciting Ryz Obychowicz Regatta on April 19, 2025, at Occoquan's Sandy Run Park. Come cheer on Langley Crew athletes and experience the races firsthand.

  • When: Saturday, April 19, 2025, 9 AM – 4 PM
  • Where: Sandy Run Park, 10450 Van Thompson Road, Fairfax Station, VA

Drop off your family at Sandy Run Park, park at South County High School, take the shuttle back to the park, and walk to the grandstands to watch the regatta with us. Bring friends – the more, the merrier! Have fun meeting Langley Crew parents, athletes, and coaches, with special prizes for kids who bring the most friends. Please note:

  • This is not a drop-off event: all children must be accompanied by an adult
  • The regattas are free, and the shuttle fee is $10/person each way (cash only).
  • The 15 min walk to the grandstands may be challenging for people with limited mobility

Next Level Scouting Expo May 3, 2025 from 2:15 – 3:45 pm

Join Scouting America on Saturday, May 3rd, from 2:15 to 3:45 PM at the Vienna Community Center (120 Cherry St SE, Vienna, VA) for the Next Level Scouting Expo! Teens and young adults (ages 14-20) are invited to learn about Scouting America programs like Venturing, Sea Scouts, and National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)—no prior Scouting experience required!

Discover how these exciting programs can help build confidence and friendships and lead to unforgettable adventures. Youth members will be on hand to answer your questions and share their experiences. This is a come-and-go event, so stop by anytime!

FCPS Summer Extravaganza: May 10, 2025, from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm

FCPS invites all families to get a jump on summer learning by participating in engaging, educational, and enriching activities for Fairfax County students. This is a great chance to discover exciting summer learning activities and ideas.

Langley Softball Camp – Ages 7-14

Time to line up your summer camp plans for your softball players! Langley softball camps will run June 16-20, 2025, at Langley HS and August 11-15, 2025 at Nike Park and run from 9-1 pm every day.  Current and former Langley High School and college players will lead camps.

We offer summer camps with a focus on radio production, studio film and video editing, exclusively for ages 12–18. Upon request we can mail copies of our summer camp catalogs to anyone interested.
