Message from Ms. Shannon

Dear Mantua families,

We hope you enjoyed your weekend!  Last week kicked off with an exciting initiative: planting new trees with Urban Forest! Our students rolled up their sleeves and helped make our school grounds even more beautiful and environmentally friendly, all supporting FCPS' Get2Green initiative.  A tremendous thank you to Ms. Sullivan for her work and partnership to make these experiences happen! We wrapped up the week with the PTA’s Annual Science and Engineering Fair, celebrating our students' critical thinking and curiosity. The energy in the room was so positive and exciting, as students proudly and knowledgeably spoke with judges and answered questions about their research!

And a special shout-out! Next week, April 7th, marks National Assistant Principals Week. Let's take a moment to celebrate the incredible contributions of Ms. Colleen Vaughan and Mr. Chris Webster. Their unwavering dedication makes Mantua the amazing place it is!

Notice: Movement Monday is cancelled due to rain.  We look forward to seeing everyone the Monday we return from Spring Break.

  • Woodson Pyramid Art Show - Tuesday, 6-8 PM Woodson High School

Our 4/4 featured staff are Colleen Vaughan and Chris Webster, our Assistant Principals.

Thank you for helping us to make Feature Friday a fun and engaging way to celebrate our school community and for your continued enthusiasm and support of our staff!

The Positivity Project.

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Fairness. Fairness means treating everyone with respect and recognizing that all people have value. It also means being open-minded and fair in how we approach situations.

By teaching fairness, we help students develop into responsible, trustworthy, and kind individuals who care about others. Fairness builds the foundation for strong friendships and a positive community.

To practice and encourage the character strength of fairness at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.
