We take great pride in our outstanding kindergarten team! This past Tuesday, they hosted our annual Kindergarten Orientation for families, showcasing the many reasons our school is a wonderful place for students to learn and grow. Their dedication and enthusiasm were evident as they shared valuable insights and highlights of our kindergarten program, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in early childhood education.
Additionally, our school's Benchmark Advance assessment data aligns closely with the district's aim line, reflecting our students' strong academic performance. In Unit 5, kindergarten and second-grade students had the same average test scores, with 69% for kindergarten and 56% for second grade. Our first-grade students performed exceptionally well, scoring 3% higher than the district average. While the district's aim line is set at 68%, our first-grade students achieved an impressive 71%, demonstrating their hard work and our staff's dedication to fostering academic success.
Families are welcome to watch the Kindergarten Orientation linked HERE for additional information.

Earth Day Preparations at Fort Belvoir Primary
Earth Day, occurring on Monday, April 22nd, is a crucial reminder of our responsibility to nurture and protect our planet. At our school, we’ve been instilling in our students the significance of environmental stewardship. As productive citizens, it’s vital that we prioritize sustainability and take action to preserve our Earth.
To commemorate Earth Day, students are encouraged to wear earth tones, symbolizing their commitment to the cause. Throughout the day, various classes will engage in activities like planting seeds in our school garden and learning about the benefits of composting, fostering a deeper understanding of how small actions can make a BIG difference in caring for our planet.
Families are encouraged to use the resources linked HERE with aiding conversations with students about the Earth.
