Oak View families,
It's with immense enthusiasm that I write to you today, having just started my journey as your new principal yesterday. My first couple of days have been truly wonderful, filled with warm welcomes from the students and staff. I already feel like part of the Oak View family! I'm looking forward to a fantastic journey together at Oak View over the years to come!
Look out for future communications with details about upcoming Parent Coffees, relaxed gatherings where you can chat informally with me and other parents to ask questions and share your thoughts. I sincerely look forward to these opportunities to connect and discuss our shared commitment to our students' success. I'm eager to hear your ideas.
Warmly,
Jamie Luerssen
Student Safety During Arrival
As we continue our school year, the safety of our students remains our top priority. We've noticed an increasing number of students being dropped off along Sideburn Road and then walking through our Kiss & Ride parking lot to enter the school building.
While we understand that the Kiss & Ride line can sometimes feel lengthy, we must emphasize that students should only exit vehicles within the designated Kiss & Ride drop-off zone.
Allowing students to exit cars on Sideburn Road and walk through the parking lot creates a potentially unsafe situation. The flow of traffic in the Kiss & Ride area, with cars entering and exiting, poses a risk to students walking through it. We want to prevent any accidents and ensure a smooth and safe arrival for everyone.
We understand that waiting in the Kiss & Ride line can be challenging, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation in adhering to our arrival procedures. By ensuring that all students are dropped off safely within the designated Kiss & Ride area, we can work together to create a secure environment for all our children.
Wear Purple for Purple UP! Day
All students are encouraged to celebrate Purple Up! Day to honor our military-connected youth and wear PURPLE on April 9.
Military families are invited to "Operation Purple Sunrise" on April 9 at 8:00 a.m. to enjoy treats and a special "Wave of Gratitude" from our students at arrival. Contact Francheska Dishmey or Sabrina Kamberis for info.

Spring Clean Up Day
Thank you to the families and community members that came out on Saturday to help beautify our school! Because of your hard work, we were able to pick up trash, plant new flowers, and prepare our pollinator garden for spring.
