A Message from Principal Ritter
Greetings Gator Families,
It has been an amazing week here at Kings Glen! The fourth quarter has started off strong and is a reminder that each quarter and season of the school year bring wonderful opportunities to learn and grow with your children. Our opening night for Kings Jester’s Shrek the Musical, Jr. was amazing – the talent of our students, staff, and dedication from the community and support from our families has made this production possible. There are two more shows: Wednesday, April 9th and Thursday, April 10th.
This week is also National Assistant Principal Week. Thank you to Mr. Aversa for all he does to support Kings Glen students, their families and staff. From student well-being to staff support and everything in between, his contributions are essential. Thank you for your tireless efforts and commitment to our Gator Family!

Class Input for the 2025-2026 School Year
As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, our staff collaborates regarding student placements. A variety of factors such as student personalities, friendships, and academic abilities are considered as we create our new classes. Other factors impacting the decision-making process of student class assignments are new student enrollments and teachers moving to a new assignment.
Families may assist in this process by sharing insights in our optional Input Survey. Please note the following when providing information. We do not accept requests for specific teachers for the upcoming grade placement. We do our best to create a positive learning year for your child.
Please provide your input by submitting the Kings Glen Parent Input Form as it will ensure we have your request. Please do not email your child's teacher additional information.
Completion of the form is optional and the deadline for any correspondence is Monday, April 28th.

Excellence is at a Crossroads
Fairfax County residents believe in the value of a strong public school system. Residents live here because of the excellence of Fairfax County Public Schools, even our community members with grown children. Excellence in FCPS comes from its people — dedicated teachers and support staff who make sure that our students are ready to learn. Today, that excellence is at a crossroads.
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will finalize the budget on Tuesday, May 6, and the current advertised budget underfunds FCPS by $150 million.
Now is the time. Do we want continued excellence, or are we ready to consider cuts to important programs that we have come to expect from FCPS?
Do you believe in the power and promise of public education? Go to fcps.edu/crossroads.
