Thank you to Brayden Collins and his volunteers for completing an Eagle Scout project
that benefits Terra Centre's outdoor learning space!
Dear Families,
A huge thank you to our PTA for organizing a successful Burgers and Bingo Night! It was a wonderful evening of fun and community. We truly appreciate your support and participation.
As we celebrate April as the Month of the Military Child, we encourage everyone to wear purple on Wednesday, April 9 in honor of Purple Up! Day. This day allows us to show our support for the military children who sacrifice so much for our country.
April is Autism Acceptance Month. One in 44 children is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder in the United States, according to the CDC. Our schools and staff play a vital role in creating and ensuring inclusive environments that accommodate and affirm autistic students.
We want to remind you that there will be no school for students tomorrow, March 31 and Tuesday, April 1 and we welcome students back on Wednesday, April 2.
Lastly, please remember that spring break will take place from April 14 - April 18, with no school for students during this time. The school office will be closed as well.
Thank you for your continued support.
Rebecca Gidoni, Principal Teresa Lewis, Assistant Principal
Important Reminders
2025-2026 Terra Centre Optional Parent Input Form
As we prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, our staff collaborates regarding student placements. A variety of factors such as student personalities, friendships, and academic abilities are considered as we create our new classes. Other factors impacting the decision-making process of student class assignments are new student enrollments and teachers moving to a new assignment.
Terra Centre families may assist in this process by sharing insights. Please note the following when providing information. We do not accept requests for specific teachers for the upcoming grade placement. This includes hints that reference specific teachers. We cannot guarantee friend requests nor exceptions for other students whereby there may be a conflict. Additionally, some placements are made due to specific programming needs (i.e. Advanced Academics, Special Education, etc.). We do our best to create a positive learning year for your child.
Please do not email additional information. Completion of the form is optional, however, the deadline for any correspondence is March 31, at 4:00 PM. Thank you for your input.

FCPS Updates
⏰ Coming Soon: School Start Times Survey
Last year, FCPS held community forums and surveyed middle school families regarding middle school start times. Now, we would like to hear from all staff and families on the possibility of adjusting school start times across the division. The goal remains to begin middle school at 8 a.m. or later at the start of the 2026-27 school year.
On April 1, a survey link will be sent by email to staff, parents/caregivers, and students in grades 5-12. The confidential survey will be open for two weeks and will be available in multiple languages.
