Principal's Weekly Message March 23, 2025

pep rally

Stone Families,

We have reached the final week of the 3rd quarter! Spring is in full swing and before long we will be talking about summer break.

Please tell your students, Thank you for their patience with the new student bathroom use procedures. Since implementing the procedures we have had only one issue in a female student bathroom. We will continue with this procedure for a few more days. Additionally, I plan to go on the  Panther News show this week to discuss behavior expectations along with a guest appearance by our custodial team.

Special Shout to all of our students! On Thursday we had our first school wide Intergrated  Reading & Writing Testing and our students were phenomenal. On Friday we had our 3rd quarter pep rally and it was a time to be had. Students vs Staff trivia was my favorite but ask your students about their favorities, maybe the air mattress race or blindfolded musical chairs.

Here is what is happening at Stone MS this week:

Tuesday March 25: IRW Make Up Testing

Thursday March 27

Feeder Elementary Schools Visiting Stone Middle

3rd Quarter NJHS Mandatory Meeting at 2:25pm in the Cafeteria.

Friday March 28:

End of 3rd Quarter

Fustal Game vs Rocky Run  MS at 6pm at Stone MS

Monday March 31: HOLIDAY/NO School

Tuesday April 1: Teacher  Workday/NO School for Students

Let's have a great week Panthers,

Sonya Williams

Principal

 Lost & Found Reminder!

Parents, please take a moment to check the photos of our Lost & Found items. If you recognize something that belongs to your child, remind them to stop by the cafeteria to claim it. Let’s reunite these lost items with their owners!

If you have time and are interested in volunteering, we could use some parent assistance is organzing our lost and found. There is A LOT more lost and found than what is pictured above. (Please email snwilliams1@fcps.edu if you are interested)

Thank you for your help!

Become Unskippable: Share the Facts

Talking with teens about the facts of fentanyl is a conversation you can’t skip. Learning about fentanyl gives teens a better understanding of the risks and effects of the drug.

Share these important facts with your child:

  • Even half a fentanyl-laced pill can be fatal. Just a few salt-sized grains of fentanyl are enough to cause an overdose.
  • More than half of local street pills contain a deadly dose of fentanyl. As of 2023, seven in
10 counterfeit pills in the U.S. contain enough fentanyl to cause a fatal overdose.
  • Fentanyl is usually taken accidentally. Many people have no idea they’ve taken it until they overdose because you can’t see, smell, or taste it in pills and powders.
  • Overdose can happen in an instant. In as little as four minutes, the lack of oxygen can lead to brain damage and even death.
