🌸 Spring is Here! 🪻

Yesterday marked the first day of spring, bringing longer days, warmer weather, and a sense of renewal. We also extend belated Nowruz Mobarak to all who celebrated! Nowruz, the Persian New Year, is a time of fresh beginnings, celebrated with festive meals, gift-giving, and the beautiful tradition of the Haft-Seen table, symbolizing hope and growth.

As we approach the end of the third quarter, we have several important dates to note:

  • 📅 Friday, March 28Last day of the third quarter (full school day for students)
  • 🌙 Monday, March 31All FCPS schools and offices are closed for Eid al-Fitr
  • 📚 Tuesday, April 1Student holiday & teacher workday
  • 📝 Gradebook ClosureSIS ParentVUE & StudentVUE will be closed from March 28 at 4 p.m. until April 7 at 6 a.m.

If you haven’t already, please activate your ParentVUE account to easily access grade reports and stay informed about your child’s progress.

Celebrating Attendance Success

We are excited to announce that our 2nd grade students won last week's attendance challenge with the highest attendance rate! 🎉 They spun the prize wheel and earned extra recess as their reward. 🏆

Regular attendance is vital for academic success and helps students feel connected to their school community. Currently, our school's chronic absenteeism rate is approximately 15.5%, and our goal is to reduce it to 10%. Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10% or more of the school year, which equates to about 18 days.

You can support your child's attendance by:

  • Ensuring they arrive on time each day.
  • Scheduling appointments outside school hours when possible.
  • Communicating with us about any challenges affecting their attendance.

Thank you for your continued support in promoting consistent attendance and contributing to our students' success.

Wishing everyone a wonderful start to the new season!🐬
