Dear Thoreau Families,
We're thrilled to share that our AVID program is officially underway! Thank you to the parents who attended our recent Information Session. For those who couldn't make it or for those who want to review the information, please click here. We are incredibly excited to embark on this multi-year journey and witness the positive impact AVID will have on all our Thoreau students.
Student vs. Staff Basketball Showdowns!
To build excitement and school spirit leading up to the Thoreau vs. Kilmer student basketball games on April 3rd, we're hosting two thrilling Student vs. Staff basketball games.
- 7th Grade Showdown: Wednesday, March 26th
- 8th Grade Rumble: Wednesday, April 2nd
All students will have the opportunity to watch these exciting games via livestream in their classrooms. However, we added a special incentive for our most punctual classes. The classes with the lowest percentage of tardies to 4th or 5th period have earned the privilege of watching the games in person!
This contest was designed to encourage on-time arrival, and we're delighted by the positive results and the chance to reward our students' dedication. Don't forget to mark your calendars for the big Thoreau vs. Kilmer Crosstown Hoops games on April 3rd! Please see below for ticket information.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Teresa Khuluki
Principal
