Preserve Critical Programs for Middle School Students!
📢 Our Children Need Your Voice!
Fairfax County’s FY26 advertised budget cuts threaten essential after-school programs that benefit all 27 middle schools, including Rocky Run Middle School. These programs keep kids safe, inspire learning, and support working families.
Juvenile crime peaks between 2 to 6 p.m. on school days—after-school programs are a crucial solution.
Why After-School Programs Benefit Both Businesses and Communities:
Safety & Well-being: Keep kids safe during peak crime hours and reduce high-risk behaviors.Academic Success: Boost academic performance, classroom participation, and homework completion.Positive Behavior: Improve student behavior, peer relations, and adult relationships.Healthy Development: Promote physical activities and recreation.Emotional & Social Growth: Enhance emotional adjustment, school attendance, and attitudes.Community Strength: Build stronger partnerships between schools, families, and the community.Support for Working Families: Give parents peace of mind knowing their children are safe and engaged.Crime Reduction: Reduce gang involvement and juvenile crime rates through structured activities.
Public participation is key in shaping the final budget. Residents are encouraged to share their input through public hearings and community discussions before the final budget adoption in May 2025.
