Fun at Math and Literacy Night!

Notes from the Administration

Dear CWES Families,

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made our Math and Literacy Night such a resounding success! It was truly an awesome event, filled with learning, laughter, and fun.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the diverse range of activities, from engaging math games to the creative Reader's Theater, puppet shows, and Poetry Station. The literacy games, graphic novel creation, and origami sessions sparked imaginations and fostered a love for learning.

A special thank you to our incredible student volunteers from Woodson and our dedicated 6th graders. Their support and enthusiasm made a significant impact, especially for our youngest learners, creating memorable and positive interactions.

And, of course, a huge thank you for the generous book donations! Seeing every student walk away with a "new to them" book was truly heartwarming.

Your participation and support made this night a wonderful experience for all. We are already looking forward to planning another exciting Math and Literacy Night next year!

On Monday, March 24, you will receive an email with a link to the FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form. This questionnaire is part of the Performance Evaluation Program and provides an opportunity for you to share  feedback on key aspects of our school, including: instructional leadership, school climate, management (human resources and organizational), communication and community relations, culturally responsive and equitable leadership, professionalism. The questionnaire will be open March 24 – April 4 and will be collected online. When you receive an email from FCPSSurvey@fcps.edu, please take a few minutes to complete it. Your feedback is important and helps shape the future of our school. Thank you for your time and participation!

Have a wonderful weekend!

CWES Garden Club

If your child enjoys digging in the dirt and working in the garden, we will be starting gardening opportunities at CWES after school.  Our goal is to grow food to give to the organization, Food for Others.

As the needs of the garden grow, we will send out a new Sign-Up Genius with different goals and dates. This allows CWES the opportunity to have many children volunteer.

On Wednesday, March 26 and Thursday, March 27th students will be getting nine garden beds ready after a long winter’s sleep. It will be from 4:15-5:15, weather permitting. Students go to room 109 and will be picked up by 5:15 in the front lobby. Wear clothes that can get dirty!

Please use this link to sign up.  We also welcome any adults who would like to help.
