2. PTSO News
PTSO Grants
Thanks in part to a PTSO Grant, The Woodson Robotics team (Cavbotics) has been able to participate in local competitions where most recently they won first place! Cavbotics allows students to develop STEM capabilities and experience different fields of STEM through competitions and real-world experiences.
Every Fall and Spring, the PTSO opens up our grant programs to the Woodson community, thanks to your generous donations. Our goal is to fulfill as many requests as we can. Please consider donating towards our grant program so that groups like Cavbotics can grow and thrive.
All Night Grad Party
Click here to get your All Night Grad Party ticket! Prices will increase May 1. This is a chance for your graduate to celebrate in style at the beautiful St. James while you relax at home, knowing your student is safely off the roads and in a drug and alcohol free setting.

The All Night Grad Party Needs Your Help!
Sign up here to volunteer at the all night grad party. It’s a Cavalier tradition that freshman, sophomore, and junior parents help out with the event to “pay it forward” for when their own kids are celebrating. It’s a really fun night and we provide free food, drinks, and COFFEE all night! If you can’t stay up all night, there are still roles you can help with.

Woodson Winter Guard
Congratulations to the Woodson winter guard as they placed 2nd in their class this past Saturday at the Sherando High School competition! Come see the great show in their next competition at Mount Vernon High School (8515 Old Mount Vernon Road, Alexandria, VA) on Saturday March 22nd performance time is scheduled for 3:20 PM. This will be the last competition locally before they head to the Atlantic Indoor Association Championships at the end of the month in Hampton, Virginia!

Woodson’s Robotics Team has brought home their first blue banner and won their second competition! They also won the Quality Award! Go Cavbotics!

Magnets are $8.00 each or 3 for $20.00. You can order online HERE.
Magnets are delivered to your door contact free (within a 5 mile radius of Woodson)! Alternatively, we can leave the magnets in the front office with your student’s name to pick up.
We will also be selling magnets at all the Partners for Safe Teen Driving seminars which are held throughout the year at the Woodson Auditorium.

Time is running short to order your Senior Legacy Brick!!! The brick courtyard in front of the school, between the main entrance and the auditorium, still has plenty of room for engraved bricks for you to remember your special student or as a wonderful legacy for all the members of your family. They make great graduation presents for Seniors too! Orders must be received by April 4th, 2025 to be included and installed in this year’s order so don’t wait!

5. Cavs Sports
Cavs Sports Pass Spring Sale
The Cavs Sports Pass grants you access to all C.G. Woodson home sporting events, excluding divisional and regional games. Once you purchase a pass through the website here you will receive a QR code directly to your phone. Same code for all games you attend. The pass allows one entrance/access to each game/gate. Passes cannot be shared.
Regular ticket admission to sporting events is $5 for students and $7 for adults. If you are a Woodson student and plan on attending 6 or more games this spring season, purchasing the Cavs Sports Student Pass is an easy decision!

Math Center
The Woodson Math Center is open. Students can come by B208 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 - 3:45 pm to receive free peer math tutoring. Snacks will be provided!

AP Exams Go Digital - May 2025
Starting in May 2025, standard paper testing will be discontinued for 28 AP Exams—these exams will move to the Bluebook digital testing application. Please find helpful tools and information from the College Board and our partners at C2 Education on the Woodson PTSO website linked here.
