Meet Educate Fairfax Vice-Chair Katie Knight!

Meet Educate Fairfax Vice-Chair & Proud Alum Katie Knight!

Dear Educate Fairfax Supporter:

It has been a very busy first quarter of 2025!

Our team was out in the community, participating in a food packing event at Herndon High School; attending a check presentation from the Robinson Alumni Class of 1984 to Robinson Secondary School for outside cafe improvements; celebrating our first Give Education Day; recognizing Samantha Vivian-Beck as the FCPS CARES of the Quarter recipient, and getting to know the "why" story for Katie Knight, the Vice-Chair of our Board of Directors!

We have also received updates from several of our 100+ Educate Fairfax Grant recipients, and are seeing firsthand how the grants are benefiting students across the county.

Keep reading to learn more about Katie!

We encourage you to follow us on social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter), where we share the stories of our grant recipients, along with other inspiring news about what's happening to improve educational outcomes across our school division.

FCPS Hall of Fame nominations are open from now until May 31. See below to nominate a distinguished FCPS grad!

Warm wishes,

Dr. Lynette Henry
Executive Director

Herndon High School help food insecurity

Herndon High School Students Help Address Food Insecurity

Herndon High School teacher Gabe Segal and 10 students helped us pack over 300 snack packs for three Welcome Centers across the county.

Having snack packs available at our Welcome Centers helps to fill the gap for FCPS students experiencing food insecurity.

We are so thankful for NOVA Strong Personal Training and Fitness, Cornerstones Free from Hunger Center, Wegmans, United Bank, and generous individual donors who helped us pack gallon size bags to the brim with healthy snacks!
