📢 Share Your Feedback! Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Survey

On Monday, March 24, you will receive an email with a link to the FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form. This questionnaire is part of the Performance Evaluation Program and provides an opportunity for you to share anonymous feedback on key aspects of our school, including:

  • Instructional leadership
  • School climate
  • Management (human resources and organizational)
  • Communication and community relations
  • Culturally responsive and equitable leadership
  • Professionalism

The questionnaire will be open March 24 – April 4 and will be collected online. When you receive an email from FCPSSurvey@fcps.edu, please take a few minutes to complete it. All written responses will be shared with both the principal and the Region Assistant Superintendent.

Your feedback is valuable—thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!

👨🏽‍🏫 Important Summer Learning Updates

As you begin planning for summer, we want to share an update on summer learning opportunities. In past years, the county offered programs funded through COVID relief funds, but those funds are no longer available, leading to changes in program availability.

This summer, the county will offer Extended School Year (ESY) services for students who qualify through their IEP. ESY will take place at select schools across the county.

There will be no summer learning programs outside of ESY for SVES students this year. Due to funding, county-led programs such as Bridge to K and Young Scholars will not be available, and SOAR will be offered only to Title I schools.

Families may wish to explore local camps as alternative options for summer activities. A few ideas are below!

📚 SVES Book Fair

It is the most wonderful time of year again… Book Fair!

The spring book fair runs from April 21-25.  Parent volunteers are essential to make this library fundraiser a success. Please use this link to go to the SignUpGenius to choose slots for volunteering.

Additionally, we are attempting to cut down on the use of single use plastic bags this year, so please start saving paper grocery bags and send them into the library to be used for packing book orders.

Thanks for all your support in the Sunrise Valley library! If you have any questions, please contact Allison Leonard.

🏀 Basketball Challenge Success!

What a fantastic evening! Our Sunrise Valley staff and students put on an amazing performance Friday night against Fox Mill. A huge shoutout to our cheer and pep squad for bringing the energy, and to all the families who made this event possible—coaching, running vending and ticket sales, and more. Special thanks to Jennifer Glynn for leading the charge!

Latest from Sunrise Valley's Get2Green Team

We're excited to announce that we're revitalizing the existing outdoor classroom into a new learning space!

Thanks to county and PTA funding, benches and planting boxes have been purchased. Please join us on Saturday, April 26, to help unpack the benches, assemble the planting boxes, and fill them with soil and new plants, creating a garden learning space our children will enjoy for many years to come.
