Skate Night This Saturday!
The PTA rented the ENTIRE RINK! Please bring family and HWES friends and join us for this family fun night!

SkateQuest - 1800 Michael Faraday Court, Reston
Tickets are $10 per skater (includes admission and skate rental).
Tickets will be on sale beginning 5:30 pm at SkateQuest on March 22, 2025. Tickets will not be pre-sold. Cash, checks (payable to HWPTA) ONLY.
SkateQuest’s concession stand will have items for purchase (cash or credit). Their menu includes chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, hamburgers, and hot dogs.
Please note: Skate Night is not a drop-off event; all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
PTA scholarships for HWES students are available- please contact Bethsy Vasquez at bnvasquez@fcps.edu or in the HWES office.

PTA Nominating Committee
We urgently need additional volunteers to serve on our nominating committee. This committee will guide the process to fill open PTA positions for the 2025-2026 school year.
As part of the nominating committee, you would:
- Attend the next 2-3 general PTA meetings
- Help identify nominees for open PTA board positions (we anticipate 3 positions will be open, previously noted only 2)
- Run nominations during PTA general meeting
This commitment would be approximately 1-2 hours total for the group per week over next 3 months.

Special Education Workshop Series- Winter 2025
PEATC presents this virtual workshop series for parents and professionals who want to learn more about special education in Virginia. Choose which of these informative workshops you’d like to attend!

Each workshop will start at 6:30 p.m. EST and will last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. These sessions will not be recorded.

Donations & Volunteers Needed
Food 4 Thought is a PTA-sponsored initiative to help students in need with healthy, shelf-stable food for the weekends and school-day snacks.
Donate: We need single-serve, shelf stable white milk and single-serve snacks (granola bars, pretzels, etc). Check out our Amazon wish list.
Volunteer: Help deliver food bags and snacks to classrooms on Fridays from 8-8:30am. Volunteers needed now through the end of the school year. Sign up here.
