Dear Terraset Families,

Next Monday, 3/17/25 we will have our next 3 hour early release Monday.  Be sure to check your email tomorrow morning for this month’s early release dismissal confirmation for your child/ren.  Any changes to that plan should be made by calling the main office at 703-390-5600 by no later than Thursday, March 13th.  It will be very difficult to navigate dismissal changes on the 17th.  Our top priority is to get every Tiger home safely at the correct time.

The past week has been so amazing!  Many of our Tiger’s art was put on display at the Reston Community Center for the annual South Lakes Pyramid Youth Art Exhibit and the SLHS Boys Basketball team won the Class 6 State Semifinal and are heading to the State Finals in Richmond this coming weekend!  Go Seahawks!! We will have a pyramid-wide pop up Seahawks Spirit Day this Friday, March 14th, wear your green and blue!

We are also gearing up for 2 great Terraset events:  Our STEAM night on March 20th and our annual Terraset PTO 6th Grade Basketball Challenge on Friday, March 28th at South Lakes High School!  Please see below for all the details.

Terraset truly is a special place with outstanding instruction AND fantastic opportunities to come together as a community.  We thank you for your partnership and support that makes us the absolute best!

Warmly,

Katie Aldridge, Principal

Dave Ickowski, Assistant Principal

🎒Rising Kindergarten Orientation

Join us on Tuesday, April 1st, at 10:30 a.m. for an exciting introduction to Kindergarten!

What to Expect:

  • Kids will go with our amazing Kindergarten teachers to explore the school and rotate through fun activity stations.
  • Parents will stay in the cafeteria to hear from our administrators about what to expect in kindergarten and get important information.

This is a great opportunity for your child to get comfortable with their new school while you learn more about their journey ahead. We can’t wait to welcome you!

📝You can begin the registration process before or after orientation! Learn more about how to begin the online registration process for Kindergarten and sign up for a time with our Registrar, Shannon Johnson, to complete your registration.

🏘️Fairfax County Child Supervision Guidelines

We have been getting questions from families about the appropriate age for children to stay home unsupervised. Fairfax County provides families guidelines to follow when deciding whether or not your child is ready to stay home unsupervised or babysit a younger child without an adult present.

☕Principal Coffee and Conversations

Please join us for informal coffee and conversations from 9:45am-10:15am in the cafeteria or view via live stream!  These sessions will be opportunities to hear about great things happening at Terraset and in FCPS and ask any questions you might have.  We hope you can join us on:
