Kindergarten Orientation, Thursday April 3rd 2:30pm- 3:40pm

We are excited to welcome our rising Kindergarteners for the 2025-2026 school year. If you have a child who will be age 5 on or before September 30, 2020, then it is time to register your child for the 2025-2026 school year. 

Kindergarten Orientation for incoming kindergarten students and their parents will be held on Thursday, April 3rd. Arrive at Door 4 near the back blacktop to sign in. Door 4 will open at 2:30pm; parents will report to the cafeteria and students will head to kindergarten classrooms. 

We kindly request that you begin the registration process as soon as possible so KPES is allocated the appropriate number of teachers.

Book Fair Header

Spring Book Fair, Mar 6-14  Book Fair Night March 13th 5:00-7:00pm

Our spring fair begins this week! The fair will run Thursday, March 6th - Friday, March 14th. Students will have the opportunity to shop the fair from March 10th - March 14th during their library time as well as during the following times: Tuesday – Friday 8:30 – 9:30 , Tuesday – Friday 11:45 – 12:15, and Tuesday – Thursday 2:40 – 3:10 . We will also be open after school until 7:00pm on Thursday, March 13th.

We strongly encourage parents to make an eWallet for their child through our Scholastic fair website, this will allow your child to shop the fair without having to bring in cash! Any unused funds get converted to a Scholastic gift card at the end of the fair. If you are interested in volunteering during our fair please sign up here.  We are looking forward to another great event!

STEAM Night, THIS THURSDAY March 13th 5:00pm-6:30pm

Join us for STEAM Night, March 13th 5:300-6:30pm in the Kings Park Cafeteria. We will be showcasing the hands on STEAM and Strategies Lab activities students have been participating in from kindergarten to 3rd grade this year as well as  maker activities.

PTA News

There are still open spots for afterschool activities for the spring starting now.  All the information is posted on our website, including links to register.  Sign-up today!

InCourage will be hosting another Parents Night Out Spirit Night THIS Friday, March 14th from 6:30-8:30PM.  Pizza will be provided; $35/child.  Register at bit.ly/burkeevents.

Our annual Baskets & Bingo is coming up on Friday, March 21st from 6-8PM at Lake Braddock SS.  This family fun event will feature FREE bingo, and themed baskets that will be raffled off.  You can pre-purchase raffle tickets until March 16th!    Every in-person student attendee will receive 10 FREE raffle tickets; tickets are then $1/each.  The Lake Braddock PTSA will have pizza, drinks, and snacks for sale throughout the evening (cash preferred).  If you have any questions, please email baskets@kpkgpta.org.

This month, staff appreciation treats will be delivered to Kings Park.  Please consider donating!

The PTA Board is looking for a new VP, Events to join us for the 2025-2026 school year.  Please reach out if you’re interested in learning more!

We will be hosting our “Ready, Tech, Go!” Workshop on Thursday, April 3rd, from 6:30-8PM at KPES.  This event is provided through funding from the National PTA, and will feature FREE childcare and a light dinner.  Please pre-register so we know to expect you.  The event, targeted at parents/caregivers of elementary aged students, will foster peer-to-peer discussion reflection on various aspects of screen readiness.  More information is on our website.
