Message from the Principal
🏫On-Time Attendance Matters
Attending school regularly helps students feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool so they learn right away that going to school on time every day is important.
Top 5 benefits of students arriving on time to school: 1. Consistency with Routines: Students benefit from starting the day with established procedures, creating a sense of stability and readiness to learn. 2. Maximized Learning Time: No missed instructions or lessons which lead to better academic performance and outcomes. 3. Stronger Social Connections: Morning interactions help build friendships. 4. Positive Behavioral Development: Punctuality fosters responsibility and discipline. 5. Reduced Anxiety: Starting the day on time reduces stress. Thank you for your continued partnership. If you're facing any challenges with your child(ren)'s school transportation, please let us know how we can help.
Ramadan Announcement
 Dear Parent and Guardians,
Please let your child’s classroom teacher know if your child will require choice and flexibility during lunch time beyond the cafeteria during Ramadan.
Additionally, FCPS students who are fasting during the school day between February 28 and March 28, 2025 can take school meal kits home at the end of the day. Information about ordering take home meal kits can be found here.
Student Fasting Meal Kits February 28 - March 28, 2025
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has issued a new, first-time waiver allowing students fasting during the school day from February 28 to March 28, 2025, to request take-home breakfast and lunch meal kits. The Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) will provide meal kits reflecting the school menu. Meals will be kept cold and must be heated at home.
Students may claim one breakfast and one lunch kit per day. If a student purchases breakfast or lunch at school, they cannot pick up a kit that day. Meal kits must be picked up by students at the end of the school day— adults cannot collect them.
Parents or guardians must submit a weekly request form via the FCPS FNS website by the deadlines: • February 24, 2025, for February 28 and the week of March 3, 2025 • March 3, 2025, for the week of March 10, 2025 • March 10, 2025, for the week of March 17, 2025 • March 17, 2025, for the week of March 24, 202
Forms must be submitted on time to receive meal kits for the following week.
