Our Carpentry 2 students took a field trip this week to visit one of our local business partners, The Tailored Closet and Premier Garage of Greater Washington DC. For the second year in a row, owners Todd and Juliana Carter opened their showroom and warehouse doors to show our Carpentry students how their business operates from start to finish including their design, manufacturing, and installation processes.
Director of Operations, Dylan Orr, and Production Director, Mitchell Rickard, are both former Chantilly Academy Carpentry students and were able to share their journeys from the classroom to the workplace. A highlight of the field trip was learning about The Tailored Closet's design process with Dylan, then touring the warehouse with Mitchell to see how the manufacturing process is applied to make those design blueprints come to life.
We are extremely grateful to our partners at The Tailored Closet and Premier Garage of Greater Washington DC for opening their doors to our students for this unique and engaging experience.
