Powell Parents & Guardians,
As you may know, this is Mrs. EJ Cho’s last week with us as assistant principal before she embarks on her next chapter in life. During this time of transition for our administrative team, I am happy to share some updates.
- Melanie Jewell will continue serving as acting AP through the end of the school year.
- Hope Song, assistant principal, gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Roi, on June 1st of this past school year. We are looking forward to her return from maternity leave on Thursday, March 20th.
- Jennifer Burke will serve our school as an administrative intern from March 3-19 to fill the gap in time from Mrs. Cho’s departure to Mrs. Song’s return. Mrs. Burke is currently working to secure a substitute so her general music classes continue without a hitch. She will continue to hold chorus on schedule, so there will be little impact to our choral program.
- Interviews will occur this school year to fill the assistant principal vacancy created by Mrs. Cho’s retirement. The interview process will be completed by the newly appointed principal.
- As for my position, the interview and selection process is under way. Updates will be shared by the Region 4 Office.
