Message from the Principal

Dear Langley Families,

We had another great week at Langley. It was a busy week with our students participating in various academic competitions, athletic events, and field trips. I want to thank our coaches, mentors, chaperones, and volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to our students and community.

National Merit Finalists

Congratulations to the 18 Langley Seniors who qualified as finalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program!

Food Delivery

I would appreciate your help. We have seen an uptick in delivery orders to the school during the school day. These are not permitted. It creates a safety and security concern with delivery drivers attempting to access our school building during the instructional day. Students should never leave class and never open an exterior door for anyone. Please speak with your student about their role in keeping our building secure and safe.

Parking

We continue to ticket vehicles without permits; we will begin towing vehicles with multiple tickets. I hope to see some positive change in the coming weeks so I can open additional permitted spaces for Junior students.

Have a wonderful week.

Mr. Stroud

Student Attendance Reporting

  • All Day Absences: The Attendance feature in ParentVUE is the FCPS secure web solution for reporting all day absences.

Partial Absence: To report late arrivals, early dismissals, or to update already submitted attendance, please email  LangleyHSAttendance@fcps.edu.

How to Report an Absence Through ParentVUE

1

Please send a note with the student, instructing them to take it directly to the attendance office. They will receive a pass to be excused from class at the time you’ve indicated. It is the student's responsibility to leave class promptly at the stated time.

If your student does not have a note, you may sign in and go to the attendance office to check them out in person. Please understand that it may take up to 30 minutes for the check-out process if it is unexpected.

Please note we are unable to accommodate last-minute early releases after 2:30 p.m.
