In case you missed it: Chantilly Academy's very own Ryan Byrne, Auto Collision teacher, was featured this week by FCPS for their "Teacher Tuesday" spotlight. When asked why he began teaching, Mr. Byrne shared, "I was drawn to teaching because I believe that education has the power to transform lives. As a student, I had excellent teachers who inspired me to pursue my passions and encouraged me to reach my full potential. I saw firsthand the impact that teachers can have on their students, both academically, personally, and emotionally. I wanted to be someone who could have a similar effect on my students, helping them grow into confident, compassionate, and curious individuals equipped to succeed in all areas of life."
Prior to beginning his teaching career, Mr. Byrne spent time working in the automotive industry as an Auto Body Repair Technician. In fact, his very first job in high school was at Fairfax Collision Center where he worked as an Auto Body Repair Assistant. Mr. Byrne secured this job with the help of his Chantilly Academy Auto Collision teacher, Mr. Brown. In a full circle moment, upon his retirement, Mr. Brown passed the torch to his former student leaving the Chantilly Academy Auto Collision program in great hands!

Mr. Byrne is just one example of the many incredible CTE instructors we are lucky to have teaching at Chantilly Academy. Our teachers bring industry expertise, real-world experience, and a passion for sharing their vast knowledge with our students to the classroom each day. Many even got their start in a CTE classroom themselves. Thank you to all of our incredible teachers for making Chantilly Academy an amazing place to learn, explore, and be inspired!
Mrs. Spinetto (left), one of our Veterinary Science teachers, took Veterinary Science at Chantilly Academy when she was in high school, inspiring her love of animal science and her passion for the course. Prior to returning to Chantilly Academy (this time as a teacher!), Mrs. Spinetto spent 5 years as a Zookeeper and 4 years as a Veterinary Assistant.
Mrs. Martin (center), our Dental Careers teacher, took the Dental Careers course at her high school in Michigan. After spending 6 years as a Dental Assistant and 18 years as a Dental Hygienist, Mrs. Martin found herself in the classroom teaching the course that first sparked her interest in dentistry.
