Dear Terraset Families,
Our students certainly are starting off the 3rd Quarter strong! We have been enjoying many learning opportunities recently including celebrating and deepening our understandings of Black History Month, 2nd grade Tigers visited the National Museum of the American Indian, and our Tiger Ambassadors and Young Scholars in 5th and 6th grades took an amazing field trip to George Mason University.
It is so hard to believe that we’re about to celebrate 100 days of school. That’s 100 days of learning, belonging, and partnership! We thank you for continuing to support routines for bedtime, mornings, and ensuring our Tigers arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day. Doing this sends our children the message that their education is important and sets them up for success.
We also recognize that by this point in the school year, some students, (including our own children), may have already missed a few days of school due to illness that requires them to be absent. As a reminder, VDOE and FCPS policies require schools to send notifications home when students have missed 5 or more days of school. These messages and letters are not sent by teachers, but by administration in accordance with these policies. Should you ever have questions or concerns about this, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Enjoy the winter weather we are expecting soon and please be sure to keep an eye out for operational status updates for the days ahead on the FCPS website, our Terraset Facebook page, and local tv stations.
Stay safe and warm,
Katie Aldridge, Principal
Dave Ickowski, Assistant Principal

There’s an easy five-step process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten:
- Determine eligibility.

🫱🏽🫲🏼Friendly Reminder: FCPS Trust Policy Information For Families
As we navigate the months ahead, many families are experiencing anxiety and uncertainty due to the recent Presidential Election and ongoing discussions surrounding immigration policies.
In 2022, the School Board adopted the Trust Policy, reaffirming its commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all students and their families. This policy aligns FCPS with Fairfax County’s Public Trust and Confidentiality Policy ensuring that students and families can access school division benefits and services without fear that their information will be disclosed to federal immigration officials.
