Atoms Athletics Recap
Boys Basketball played two pivotal district games this week and came away two big wins to lead into the final week of the season. Tuesday, the Atoms welcome Lewis to Annandale and sent them home with a complete sweep of wins. The varsity Atoms took and early lead and never looked back on the way to rolling the Lancers. Friday evening had the Atoms on the road looking at redemption against TJ. It was a night of execution perfection for the Atoms as they handled TJ on the way to positioning themselves for a top three seed in the district tournament. Next up a date with second place Edison as the last week of the regular season starts Monday.
Girls Basketball had a packed schedule this week with four games in five days due to early inclement weather reschedules. Girls fell to Herndon on Monday and had a quick turnaround to a district showdown with Lewis Tuesday. The game was a back and forth game between the Lancers and Atoms. Unfortunately for the Atoms, the Lancers pulled away in the fourth quarter to get the win. Thursday had the Atoms on a bus to Osbourn where they got up early and often to run away and get the win! Another quick turnaround to TJ Friday evening showed the fatigue from the week that was as TJ ran all over the Atoms to give the Atoms a second district loss for the week. The Atoms return to Annandale Monday evening vs Edison.

The Atoms advanced several wrestlers to the region championships, highlighted by National District Championship Isaac Readinger and runner-up Jordy Lopez Funes. Atoms Boosters Concession Stand Help
Attention Parents! Volunteers are needed to sell concessions at games throughout the year. We welcome any and all parents to volunteer but when parents of a particular sport work a game, a portion of concessions sales directly benefit that team. If you are not able to help directly at home games, there are many ways you can get involved with the Atoms Athletics Boosters by attending our monthly meetings or being a team liaison. Thank you for your support for Atom’s Athletics!
