Message from the Principal

Dear Langley Families,

As we move into the second half of the school year, I want to take a moment to recognize the hard work, dedication, and resilience of our students, teachers, and families. The first half of the year (and my time so far) has been filled with learning, accomplishments, and celebration. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved so far.

National School Counseling Week

We celebrated our professional school counselors and the Student Services Department this week. These folks are essential to our support of students. Please take a moment to thank your student’s counselor for all their work with our students.

Class of 2025

This is an especially significant time for our senior families preparing for graduation and life beyond high school. In the coming weeks, we will send out our graduation and end-of-year event schedules to help with family planning.

Rise Against Hunger

I wanted to thank everyone who contributed to the Langley Pyramid’s “Rise Against Hunger” event. The pyramid met its goal and has provided more than 1,000,000 meals since 2012. Bravo!

Arrivals

I look forward to seeing many of you in our Kiss and Ride each morning. I am happy to share that the area near Door #14 was surveyed this week for crosswalk installation.

Please continue to use the Kiss and Ride system to drop off and pick up your students, as the parking lot is not a safe or appropriate alternative. I encourage you to move up close to Door #14 for student drop-off, ensuring it's a smooth and secure process.

Parking

Since the break, we have noticed a significant increase in vehicles without parking passes. Many of these cars are parked in our faculty lot. We need to improve. School security will ticket vehicles without permits, and we will begin towing vehicles with multiple tickets. Regrettably, we had planned to open more spaces for our junior students, but the current situation does not support this opportunity.

Thank you for being so supportive. Please stay safe this week as we brace for what will hopefully be the last of our winter weather.

Mr. Stroud

Join Robyne Davis, MA, LPC and Becky Kohm, M.A.T, Ed.S. as they share strategies to provide support in these areas in both the home and school settings. Assessment, symptoms, and treatment approaches will be discussed as well.
