Please see the PTA flyer below for information about buying tickets, signing up as a volunteer, and other logistics.  ***Please note this is also one of our events that has the potential to sell out, so please be sure to buy your tickets in advance!

running

Returning this Spring to GBW:

Girls on the Run (Grades 3-6 Girls)

These clubs can happen at GBW thanks to volunteers like YOU!

Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based positive youth development program that is designed to enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences.

The 10-week curriculum includes lessons that specifically target helping girls improve in competence, confidence, caring, character, connection, and contribution. Girls learn specific skills and strategies such as how to manage emotions, help others, make intentional decisions, and resolve conflict that they use at home, at school and with friends.

Registration at GBW is now open for girls in grades 3rd-6th.

The Spring season starts on March 3rd, meets Mondays and Wednesdays after school until 5:30pm, and ends with a 5k race in May. Visit gotrnova.org to learn more and register. Questions? Email mbdrum@fcps.edu.

Let Me Run (Grades 4-6 Boys)

We are still looking for a substitute coach for Let Me Run, a program for 4th- 6th grade boys. Per our coaches’ availability, LMR will meet Monday and Wednesday mornings before school. Registration will begin next week.

Find out more about these clubs by heading to gotrnova.org and letmerun.org, and email Site Coordinator Mary Beth Drum (mbdrum@fcps.edu) to indicate the club in which you are interested.
