Dear Dogwood Dragons,

This week at Dogwood was truly special! We were honored to welcome Fatima Shah, a Dogwood alumna and author of Malcolm, It’s a Metaphor!, who visited our 3rd and 4th graders. Fatima, originally from Afghanistan, immigrated to the U.S. in the 1990s and once walked the same halls as our students. Her journey of perseverance and hard work resonated deeply with them, reinforcing the importance of chasing dreams. She currently has three books available on Amazon and is working on her fourth—be sure to check them out!

Looking ahead, don’t miss our Chuck E. Cheese fundraiser on Thursday, January 30th to support our 4th graders' trip to Jamestown! I’ll be picking up some extra tokens to take on any challengers, so bring your best game! Simply mention Dogwood at checkout, and 20% of the proceeds will go directly to our school.

Thank you for your continued support.
