“Rise Against Hunger” Service Learning Project (All Grades)
We will be starting our annual “Rise Against Hunger” Service Learning project on Monday, January 13 and will be collecting donations in school and online through January 31. All students are encouraged to earn some extra money at home through doing chores, saving, or set aside a portion of any allowance to donate to our Rise Against Hunger initiative.
As a Langley pyramid, the goal is to raise $34,475, to purchase 82,080 meals which will be given to families in need around the world. If it is $.50, $2.00, or $20.00, we want our students to know that they are never too young to make a difference, and we appreciate your support in sending this message to your child as well.
We will be tracking the percentage of participation per Grade Level. We hope 100% of our students will participate by donating any amount of money they can. Every $.42 purchases a meal which feeds 5-6 people.
Families may also donate online at Langley Pyramid Rise Against Hunger 2025. NOTE: If you donate online, please have your child inform us of that when they stop by the Front Lobby table during Morning Arrival, so we can count their participation.
Sign-Up to Volunteer- The event will be held at Colvin Run ES on Saturday, February 1, 2025. You must sign-up to volunteer for the event. The Volunteer sign-up Genius will be sent Wednesday, January 15 at 5:30 p.m.
