This fall we communicated about some serious challenges we have been facing as a school. While it is hard to report that there have been hate speech issues in our school, it is important to us that we are transparent so we can address these challenges collaboratively. By working as a community, we can foster the inclusive and welcoming environment we envision for Wakefield Forest.
We invite you to join us virtually on Wednesday, January 22nd at 7:00 PM to continue this essential work of building a more inclusive and welcoming school community. This session will be an opportunity to discuss actionable next steps and share resources to support our shared mission. (Zoom Link: https://myfcpsk12.zoom.us/j/94532453169)
On Thursday, January 23rd at 6:30 pm, we will be having our annual PTA Bingo Night.
You can now pre-order your bingo items and pizza for Bingo Night! Thank you for pre-ordering. It will help us know how many people to expect, and it will streamline your check-in at Bingo Night. It will also be important to pre-order since we may need to cap attendance this year.

FCPS is collaborating with Volunteer Fairfax for the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Students and families can volunteer on Saturday, January 25, at Give Together at the James Lee Community Center.
Volunteer Fairfax invites families to participate in thoughtful, engaging service projects working alongside local nonprofit and government agency partners across a variety of mission areas. Projects will include food packing, creating care packages, environmental stewardship, and support for animal welfare. This event is free and open to the public but registration is required.
There will also be Financial Literacy Workshops offered at Give Together for students in grades 3-12. If you would like to attend one of the workshops, sign up during check-in on January 25.
Our next Green Team meeting will be Monday, January 27th at 3:30 pm in the WFES Library. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mary Muratore mpmuratore@fcps.edu. |
