A Message from the Principal
Happy New Year Ravensworth Families,
It was such a joy to see our students back at school today. Over the next week our staff will be reviewing classroom routines and expectations. Families are encouraged to use this as an opportunity to revisit family routines and expectation as well. Research shows that children thrive on routines and predictability.
As a reminder, next Thursday, January 16th we will be hosting a Dual Language Immersion Information Meeting at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. You are encouraged to attend if you have a rising first grader for the 2025-2026 school year and you are interested in learning more about the Spanish Immersion Program at Ravensworth. A member of the FCPS World Languages Office will be presenting information about the lottery process.
Don’t forget that Monday, January 20th is a school holiday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. observance and Inauguration Day.
It looks like it is going to be another cold evening. Stay warm!
Sincerely,
Erika Aspuria
Principal

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener Results Coming Soon
Students in grades 3-12 took the SEL Screener during the month of October, providing information on their SEL skills like achieving goals, understanding, and managing emotions, establishing, and maintaining relationships, and making responsible decisions. The screener also asks students how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.
Individual student SEL Screener results are now available to families in the Documents section of SIS ParentVUE. For families who do not have an active ParentVUE account, results will be sent via postal mail.
For support in understanding your individual student’s results or for ideas on how to support them at home, please review the Family Guide or reach out to our school staff with any questions.
