Dear Poplar Tree Families,
What a wacky week! We were so excited to have our students back in school even if just for a shortened day. We could tell by the smiles on their faces that they were happy to see their friends and teachers!
We are looking forward to hopefully a full week of school next week!
We hope everyone was able to enjoy the snow and stays safe and warm this weekend!

Pajama Dance
Our 6th grade class will be hosting a pajama dance for students in Grades 4-6 on January 31, 2025 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Bring new never used socks, hats and gloves to donate the Hypothermia Shelters. Proceeds will be in support of the 6th Grade celebration!
Cost: $10 per student (drop off event)
Includes water and a snack. Bring cash for other concessions.

Panera Break Spirit Night
Need dinner plans? 😋 Come support Poplar Tree Elementary PTA at our Panera Bread fundraiser! Join us on January 15th from 4-8 PM at the Fairfax Towne Center location. 25% of all sales will be donated to our school. Just use code FUND4U online or mention Poplar Tree PTA at checkout.

Registration Now Open for Winter After-School Classes!
The Poplar Tree PTA is excited to announce that registration is open for the winter session of after-school classes. Back by popular demand, Art Club, Sticky Fingers Cooking, and Chess Club are returning, plus thanks to your survey feedback, we’re also introducing a 2-hour Robotics Club and Minecraft Programming!
Information is available on the PTA website and flyers are coming home in Friday’s folders. There are limited seats for each class. *Please note that the Robotics age groups have been switched since last Friday’s Paw Print. The new days are below.
Remember, you must be a PTA member to register your students. Join today to make sure your registration is up to date. Scholarships are available for some classes and financial assistance is available for PTA membership.

🐝Sign-up is open for the Spelling Bee 2025🐝
The Poplar Tree PTA has been planning for a successful spelling bee program for 2024-2025. Poplar Tree is proud to offer students an opportunity to exhibit their proficiency in the art of spelling and, just as importantly, vocabulary. The school Spelling Bee Champion will advance to the Fairfax County regional competition. The regional winner will go to the Scripps National Spelling Bee representing Fairfax County.
