January
Dear Brookfield Family,
We are thrilled to welcome our students and staff back to school after the Winter Break and the extended snow days! We hope everyone enjoyed the time off and had a chance to relax and recharge.
You may have noticed some changes on campus, including the relocation of the playground. This is an important step as we continue to prepare for the upcoming renovations and the planned shift of grades 3-6 to the quads in a few weeks.
As we prepare for this exciting transition, it is crucial that all our Broncos continue to feel a strong sense of belonging. To foster this sense of community, classes are currently brainstorming special names for the quads. Students will have the opportunity to vote on their top choices before the move, and the new name will be share with our students, staff, and community.
A huge thank you to our dedicated custodians who worked tirelessly over the past few days to clear the sidewalks and ensure a safe return to school. Their hard work and dedication are deeply appreciated.
We would like to invite parents, guardians, and caregivers to join us Wednesday, January 15 at 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria for coffee and doughnuts. This time will be dedicated to share renovation updates, provide support to families with accessing Parent Vue, make connections with one another, and will be an opportunity for families to ask questions.
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to seeing our children back in the building on Monday morning!
Sincerely,
Lesley Hassen, Principal
Margaret Sisler, Assistant Principal
Anthony Ramakis, Assistant Principal

Gradebook Available Until End-of-Quarter
Based on community feedback from the first quarter closure, FCPS revisited the scheduled dates for closing the Gradebook and Report Card modules in the SIS ParentVUE and StudentVUE apps.
Moving forward, the app will close in alignment with the actual quarter-end dates. This change will allow students and families to view their assignments and grades until the last day of the quarter. Gradebook will be closed for the second quarter from Tuesday, January 28, 4 p.m. to Tuesday, February 4, 6 a.m.
