The Dunne Dispatch (Winter Weather Edition) - 01/09/2025
Friends and Neighbors:
I am writing to request your assistance. I am extremely concerned by VDOT’s failure to ensure our secondary (neighborhood) roads and sidewalks are cleared of snow and ice. To ensure the safety of our students and staff as FCPS reopens for the first time after the holidays:
- Could you please report to VDOT any secondary (neighborhood) roads that should be plowed (or have ice removed)? You can submit a report online at https://my.vdot.virginia.gov/
- Could you please contact my Staff Aide Nelda Brown at nnbrown@fcps.edu to identify any secondary (neighborhood) roads that should be plowed (or have ice removed)? We will communicate these reports to the Superintendent, who has a direct line to VDOT to prioritize these roads for plowing and treatment.
